Hello to all our supporters of Qi Aerista!
Here's our bi-weekly update to our wonderful backers.
We have sent out all of our physical parts for prototyping and they should be ready for assembly next week. In total, we have contracted 4 separate manufacturers to handle different sets of prototype parts.
While again we cannot show the complete new design due to IPR reasons, let's take an insider's look at a couple of parts of interest. Below is the evolution of the glass shell`from earliest, current to the newest design of Qi Aerista. Our newest design features a straighter profile for a bolder look.
Here is a glimpse at our planned user interface rearrangement on the base unit, where the 4 touch-sensitive buttons are grouped together for a more compact appearance.
As we have fixed the UI design, we can finally go ahead with our PCBA, firmware and app development work. So far we have collected proposals & quotations from more than 4 experienced design firms in those areas, some can handle all 3 jobs together. We will make a decision on partner selection this coming week to kick off the work. The development lead time for such work will be about 1 month.
To help us better design our Qi Aerista app, we will be sending out a survey to all of our backers shortly for your design preferences and thoughts. Your valuable input is much appreciated.
In the next 2 weeks we will see:
- Continue working with our main manufacturing partner for updated product quotation and preparation for mass production
- Assembly and testing of our newest prototype
- Finalize our decision to select our partners to carry out PCBA, firmware and app development work
- App design survey
Together we are making Qi Aerista a reality!
